BBIA Students Place at State and Nationals for SkillsUSA

Congratulations to the Ben Barber Innovation Academy students who finished the season as state and/or national winners for SkillsUSA.

SkillsUSA is an organization with competitions that help prepare students for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

Nine students earned top spots at the state state that took place in Corpus Christi. They advanced to the national contest in Atlanta, which was held June 20-24.

  • CNC Milling Technology - William Cunningham - 1st place at state - 1st place at Nationals
  • CNC Technician - Ethan Tang - 1st place at state - Advanced to Nationals
  • Practical Nursing - Charlotte Belanger - 1st place at state - 2nd place at Nationals
  • Medical Assisting - Avery Pickrell - 2nd place at state - 4th place at Nationals
  • Health Knowledge Bowl - Anny Ly, Marcus Metsala, Elizabeth Phan and Rahul Rajan - 1st place at state - 9th at Nationals
